BritBox's Hercule Poirot Series Casts Edward Bluemel
Filming is underway in Liverpool on the six-episode first season, which also features Jessica Alexander, Toby Stephens, and Katherine Parkinson.

BritBox is bringing Hercule Poirot back to the screen with a six-part series starring Edward Bluemel, Collider reports. Filming is underway in Liverpool on the first set of cases for the legendary detective.
The cast is stacking up. Jessica Alexander, fresh off Ryan Murphy's FX series "The Beauty," joins alongside Toby Stephens ("Black Sails") and Katherine Parkinson ("Rivals"). Also on board: Honor Swinton Byrne, Omari Douglas, Paul Forman, Arthur Hughes, Ralf Little, River Medway, and Natalie Quarry. They join a lineup that already includes "Game of Thrones" alumni Jack Gleeson and Henry Ashton.
The series follows BritBox's recent success with a modern twist on Christie's Tommy & Tuppence, which earned a perfect 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, according to Collider. Netflix also mined Christie's catalog earlier this year with the starry "Seven Dials Mystery."
This marks the streaming service's first original series centered on Poirot. With a sprawling cast and production already rolling, it's shaping up to be a busy season for Christie fans.
