Children of Blood and Bone Lands NYCC Panel With Rian Johnson
The fantasy adaptation starring Thuso Mbedu, Viola Davis and Idris Elba comes to New York Comic Con on Oct. 10, moderated by the Knives Out filmmaker, Collider reports.

If you have been waiting for a new fantasy world to dive into, Children of Blood and Bone might be it. The adaptation of Tomi Adeyemi’s best-selling novel is headed to theaters in January 2027, but first it is making a stop at New York Comic Con.
Collider exclusively reports that Paramount is bringing the film to NYCC on Saturday, October 10 with a huge lineup of stars. The panel includes Amandla Stenberg, Thuso Mbedu, Damson Idris, Tosin Cole, Cynthia Erivo, Lashana Lynch, Chiwetel Ejiofor and writer/director Gina Prince-Bythewood. And the person running the show? Rian Johnson, the filmmaker behind the Knives Out movies and The Last Jedi.
The panel takes place at 8:15 p.m. ET on October 10 at NYCC.
The story is set in the fictional African region of Orïsha. A young woman named Zélie Adebola (Mbedu) once lived in a world full of magic. But when the magic vanished overnight, an evil king seized power. Now Zélie is on a dangerous mission to bring magic back and save her home.
The cast is stacked. Viola Davis, Idris Elba and Cynthia Erivo are just some of the names attached. With Prince-Bythewood directing (she helmed The Woman King), this is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated fantasy films of 2027.
Mark your calendar for the panel if you are at NYCC. If not, set a reminder for the movie's release on January 14, 2027. This is one to watch.
