Chris Colfer: 'Absolutely Nothing' on 'Glee' Reboot

The former 'Glee' star tells Bustle he has no word on a revival, even as Ryan Murphy has a script ready.

Chris Colfer says he has no inside information about a possible "Glee" revival, despite recent rumors.

The actor, who played Kurt Hummel on the Fox musical series, told Bustle in an interview published Tuesday that he knows "nothing" and has "heard absolutely nothing" about a reboot. "I wish I did," Colfer said. He noted that the show was difficult to make and would be even harder without the late Naya Rivera, but joked that "Glee fans would probably come after me with pitchforks and jazz hands if I said no."

Creator Ryan Murphy first floated the idea of revisiting "Glee" in an August interview with The Hollywood Reporter. He said the show's fanbase, now in their 20s, is the reason he's considering it. "For many, many people now in their 20s, they grew up on that show and it meant something to them," Murphy told THR. "The music meant something."

A month later, Murphy told Entertainment Tonight that he, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan had finished a script for the potential reboot. He added that he had reached out to about 10 original cast members, all of whom were "very enthusiastic" but had not yet read the script.

"Glee" aired from 2009 to 2015, winning six Emmys. The ensemble included Lea Michele, Amber Riley, Dianna Agron, Chord Overstreet, Kevin McHale, Jenna Ushkowitz, Heather Morris, Harry Shum Jr., Darren Criss, Jane Lynch, as well as the late Cory Monteith, Naya Rivera and Mark Salling.

Michele has already expressed interest. In a September interview with E! News, she said she "will follow Ryan wherever he goes."

Whether a revival actually happens remains unclear. Colfer is the latest to publicly address the possibility, but he's not confirming or denying participation. He simply doesn't know yet.
