Coherence Jumps 87 Spots on Streaming Charts
The 2014 sci-fi thriller, made on a tiny budget, is now in the top 10 on JustWatch with an 89% critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes.

A dinner party. A comet. A group of friends. That is all "Coherence" needed to become one of the most talked-about sci-fi thrillers of the past decade, and now new audiences are finding it.
The 2014 film has jumped 87 places on U.S. streaming charts, landing inside the top 10 on JustWatch, according to data reported by Collider.
Director James Ward Byrkit made the movie on a small budget. The plot follows four couples who gather for dinner on the night a mysterious comet passes overhead. Strange events begin to bend reality, and the guests realize visitors from a house down the road may be trying to stop them from surviving the night. As the evening goes on, people face terrifying truths about themselves, and for one woman, staying in the house becomes more unbearable than whatever unknown fate lies down the road.
Emily Baldoni ("Five Feet Apart") stars as Em, alongside Maury Sterling ("Homeland") as Kevin, Nicholas Brendon ("Buffy the Vampire Slayer") as Mike, Lorene Scafaria ("Hustlers") as Lee, Elizabeth Gracen ("Highlander: The Series") as Beth, Hugo Armstrong ("Fear the Walking Dead") as Hugh, Alex Manugian as Amir, and Lauren Maher ("Pirates of the Caribbean") as Laurie.
The movie holds an 89% critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes. Matt Zoller Seitz of RogerEbert.com praised it as "proof that inventive filmmakers can do a lot with a little." Mark Kermode of The Observer called it "impressively stripped-down, experimental sci-fi."
At 89 minutes, it is short enough to watch in one sitting, though you might spend about the same amount of time afterward trying to figure out what you just watched.
"Coherence" is streaming now on Prime Video, Peacock, and several free ad-supported services in the United States.
