My Father's Dragon Gets Graphic Novel Adaptation in 2027

Titan Comics will release a 272-page full-color graphic novel of Cartoon Saloon's 2022 Netflix film on February 2, 2027, Screen Rant reports.

Watch it. The 2022 Netflix film My Father's Dragon is getting a second life. Screen Rant reports that Titan Comics will release a 272-page full-color graphic novel adaptation on February 2, 2027, priced at $16.99.

The graphic novel is directly inspired by Cartoon Saloon's Oscar-nominated animation. The studio, which earned five Academy Award nominations for projects including The Secret of Kells, Song of the Sea, and Wolfwalkers, is credited as the author of the adaptation.

The story follows Elmer, a boy who runs away from his new city home to rescue a young dragon on Wild Island. It stays faithful to the heart of the animated film while the graphic novel format gives the fantasy world more room to shine on the page.

Nora Twomey directed the original film, which featured a voice cast led by Gaten Matarazzo, Whoopi Goldberg, and Rita Moreno. The graphic novel replaces those performances with sequential art but keeps the characters and emotional core intact.

For fans who discovered My Father's Dragon on Netflix in 2022, this February 2027 release offers a gorgeous new way to revisit Elmer's adventure. Screen Rant notes the artwork is directly inspired by the animation, giving readers a chance to own a physical version of the colorful world.
