GKIDS and Fathom Entertainment have confirmed what Collider reports: "Spirited Away" will return to theaters October 17 through October 21 for its 25th anniversary. The five-day engagement closes Studio Ghibli Fest 2026.

Screenings come in two formats. The English-dubbed version plays Saturday, October 17 at 3 p.m.; Sunday, October 18 at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.; and Wednesday, October 21 at 7 p.m. The original Japanese with subtitles runs Monday, October 19 and Tuesday, October 20, both at 7 p.m. Tickets are on sale now through GhibliFest.com, Fathom Entertainment, and participating theater box offices.

Each screening adds a post-film clip from the "Nippon Television Special" bonus featurette. Collider reports the announcement does not specify which portion of the special will be shown, only that the additional footage is part of the theatrical presentation.

Theater participation is subject to change. Moviegoers should check local listings for specific showtimes and availability.

For newcomers: Chihiro's family stops during a move, her parents turn into pigs, and she takes a job in a bathhouse ruled by the sorceress Yubaba. The film won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature in 2003.
