Your Mother, Your Mother, Your Mother, the new thriller starring Mahershala Ali, saw a 326% box office increase in its second weekend as it expanded from 6 to 16 theaters, Collider reports.

The film, written and directed by Bassam Tariq, debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival a few weeks ago. It holds a 97% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes from 74 reviews, with a 92% audience score on the site's Popcornmeter.

Ali plays Latif, a devoutly religious hitman struggling to balance work, faith and fatherhood. After his wife dies, he travels across Houston to protect his children while confronting the forces closing in around him.

Tariq was originally attached to direct Marvel's Blade movie before departing the project in 2022. Ali was announced as the next Daywalker in 2019, but the film was officially cancelled after years of development issues, including the departures of actors Aaron Pierre and Delroy Lindo and director Yann Demange.
