Screen Rant has rounded up the five best new series to stream on HBO Max this week. Whether you want a legal thriller or a spooky reality show, there is something here for your October nights.

**Watch it.** *War* is the standout of the week. This London-set legal drama follows two law firms clashing over a high-profile divorce case. Screen Rant reports it has an 87% Rotten Tomatoes score, a cast that includes Dominic West and Sienna Miller, and a second season already ordered after just one episode. If you liked *Succession* or *Industry*, this is your next binge.

**Watch it.** *Lanterns* just dropped its eighth and final episode on Sunday, so you can now binge the entire first season. The series rewrites the origin of Green Lanterns John Stewart and Hal Jordan, with Aaron Pierre and Kyle Chandler leading a grounded crime mystery. Co-created by Damon Lindelof, Tom King, and Chris Mundy, per Screen Rant, this eight-episode superhero drama is complete and ready.

**Watch it.** *Youth* is the most acclaimed new original on HBO Max right now, with a 96% Rotten Tomatoes score. Screen Rant notes it ranks #6 in U.S. viewership. Sharon Hogan stars and created this dramedy about a 50-year-old divorcee navigating modern dating while caring for her family. New episodes drop every Sunday through November 1.

**Stream it.** *Scariest House in America* is midway through its third season and currently #5 in HBO Max's U.S. rankings. Host Retta takes viewers inside eerie homes across the country. Screen Rant says it is spooky but not frightening — perfect for October without nightmares.
