Chace Crawford has a message for anyone who wrote off The Covenant: he still loves it.

In an exclusive interview with Collider, the Gossip Girl and The Boys star addressed the 2006 cult classic fantasy film. The Covenant has a 4% on Rotten Tomatoes from critics, but Crawford isn't apologizing. "It's definitely cheesy, but it's good," he said.

The film stars Crawford as Tyler Simms alongside Sebastian Stan, Taylor Kitsch, Steven Strait, and others. It was directed by Renny Harlin (Cliffhanger) and written by J.S. Cardone. The story follows four families of supernatural heirs at an elite academy.

Crawford told Collider that the movie was his first big experience and that everyone had a great time. He joked about doing a sequel, adding, "They don't make that kind of mid-budget movie anymore."

The Covenant is currently streaming on Hulu, Starz, and Tubi. Crawford is set to star in the upcoming Hulu series The Land, a mashup of Friday Night Lights and Succession from creator Dan Fogelman. No release date yet.

If you're a fan of cheesy early-2000s fantasy or just want to see a young Crawford, Stan, and Kitsch together, The Covenant is an easy one-sitting watch. Just don't expect prestige.
