Legends & Lattes Gets a Gorgeous Graphic Novel Adaptation
The BookTok sensation about an orc opening a coffee shop hits bookstores in full color on October 6.

If you've been meaning to see what the fuss is about with Travis Baldree's cozy fantasy novel "Legends & Lattes," next month gives you a new way in. Ten Speed Graphic is releasing a full-color graphic novel adaptation on October 6.
The adaptation was scripted by Samuel Sattin, with art by Shanti Rittgers and Sarah Webb. Collider got an exclusive first look at the interior pages, and they show a scene that will be familiar to fans: the enormous dire-cat Amity arrives at Viv's coffee shop and immediately makes herself at home. The cat sprawls on the floor, and her size comes in handy when a character named Fennus stops by with congratulations that sound more like pointed criticism. Amity's growl cuts the visit short, earning her some approval.
The original novel sold more than a million copies and became a hit on BookTok, thanks largely to its warm fantasy setting with LGBTQ+ representation and a low-stakes premise: an orc named Viv retires from adventuring and decides to run a coffee shop in a city where nobody knows what coffee is.
Author Matt Dinniman, who wrote the "Dungeon Crawler Carl" series, called the graphic novel "the modern classic about starting over" and said he wishes he could live in every panel.
For readers who already know the story, the preview pages offer the pleasure of seeing familiar characters exchange looks across the counter. For newcomers, it's a straightforward pitch: an orc running a café while a giant cat appoints herself security. That's a pretty easy recommendation.
