Percy Jackson and the Olympians Hits Netflix Top 10
The Disney+ fantasy series arrived on Netflix as part of a landmark deal and immediately broke into the streaming service's charts.

Screen Rant reports that Percy Jackson and the Olympians has landed on Netflix and is already climbing the charts. The fantasy series, based on Rick Riordan's bestselling novels, dropped on Netflix worldwide Sunday, Oct. 4. By Oct. 5, it was the ninth most-watched TV show in the U.S. on the service.
As of this writing, the show ranks 10th domestically and 6th globally, according to FlixPatrol data cited by Screen Rant. It's outpacing titles like Matlock and Medusa on the worldwide list. The series is only available on Netflix for three months, a window that leads into the Season 3 premiere on Disney+ on Nov. 20.
Percy Jackson is one of the first projects to benefit from a sweeping deal between Netflix and Disney, which will bring several Disney movies and shows to Netflix going forward. Screen Rant notes that Netflix's massive subscriber base — over 325 million — means Disney titles with new seasons approaching can reach millions of new viewers. For a fantasy series that already had a following, that's a quick ratings boost.
Watch it if you liked Wednesday, The Witcher, or Avatar: The Last Airbender. The first two seasons are streaming now on both Netflix (for a limited time) and Disney+.
