Wicker Gets One-Night-Only 4DX Screening on Oct. 28

Alexander Skarsgard and Olivia Colman's fantasy comedy Wicker gets a 4DX one-night event on Oct. 28, two days before its wide release.

Wicker, the upcoming fantasy comedy starring Alexander Skarsgard and Olivia Colman, gets a one-night-only 4DX screening on Oct. 28, Screen Rant reports. Tickets are on sale now.

The demand started with the trailer. Social media reactions focused on Skarsgard's wicker man and the comedy's intimate scenes with Colman, sparking jokes about what the 4DX format would add. Audiences asked for it. Black Bear is delivering.

David Spitz, Black Bear's Head of U.S. Theatrical Distribution, called it "wholly original" in a statement. CJ 4DPLEX COO Paul Kim said the film's world gives a chance to use motion effects in unexpected ways. Co-director Eleanor Wilson told Screen Rant the 4DX enhances the comedy. Director Huston Fischer initially thought the 4DX plan was a joke, then called the final result spectacular.

The movie is based on Ursula Willis' short story The Wicked Husband. It follows a fisherwoman (Colman) whose relationship with a wicker man shakes up her village. Elizabeth Debicki, Marli Siu, Richard E. Grant, Peter Dinklage and Ben Ashenden round out the cast. It premiered at Sundance this year and Screen Rant reports it carries a 90% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

The 4DX event is Oct. 28. The wide release in U.S. theaters is Oct. 30. Tickets for the one-night screening are already listed as sold out or nearly full at several theaters.
