Zelda: The Minish Cap Gets a 3D Remake from a Fan Modder
Screen Rant reports that a from-scratch 3D remake of the Game Boy Advance classic is heading to PC for Early Access testing.

Screen Rant reports that a from-scratch 3D remake of The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap is in development.
Modder CryZENx is behind the project, which began on July 15, 2026, and is preparing for an Early Access test period on PC.
Video footage shared by CryZENx shows gameplay mechanics drawn from several 3D Zelda titles. Link can dash without using stamina and perform rolls similar to later games. The Z-targeting system is described by the creator as close to Twilight Princess. Link's jumps come from Majora's Mask and a crash-into-wall animation is included.
Combat includes sword attacks and shield defense. The talking hat Ezlo can follow Link on the ground or ride on his head, where it can peck enemies. A dialogue system is already supported in this early build.
CryZENx shared a message with Screen Rant: "I built the project completely from scratch and tried to avoid mistakes as much as possible to keep the project clean."
The original The Minish Cap was released for the Game Boy Advance. It became available on the Wii U Virtual Console and joined the Nintendo Classics library in 2023. Players can currently access it on the Switch family of consoles with an active Switch Online membership. The Game Boy Advance titles require the Expansion Pack tier.
