DC Crowns New Smartest Hero: Ms. Terrific Takes the Title
Screen Rant reports that Deadman #5 introduces Amril Melville, a new Ms. Terrific with an IQ that surpasses even Mr. Terrific.

A new brain in the DC Universe
Screen Rant reports that DC Comics has introduced a character who may be its smartest superhero yet. In Deadman #5, Boston Brand a.k.a. Deadman travels to a future timeline where he meets Amril Melville, the new Ms. Terrific. She is described as having a higher IQ than Michael Holt, the current Mr. Terrific, who holds 14 Ph.D.s and is usually ranked third-smartest in the DC Universe.
Unlike the original Ms. Terrific from Earth-23, this version has no filial relationship to Michael Holt. She uses T-Cubes instead of the familiar T-Spheres, a clear visual nod to her predecessor. Her appearance is brief: before she can explain what happened to the Justice League Omega, she is attacked and the issue leaves her fate uncertain.
What this means for Mr. Terrific
Michael Holt remains a central figure in Justice League Unlimited and recently starred in the limited series Mr. Terrific: Year One. Actor Edi Gathegi will play him in the upcoming DC film Man of Tomorrow, following a cameo in Superman. The introduction of a smarter rival adds a fun wrinkle to the character's legacy, though it is unclear whether Amril Melville will return beyond this limited series.
For now, Deadman continues its expanded 12-issue run. Issue #5 is available now from DC Comics.
