Evil Dead Burn Beats Supergirl on HBO Max
The sixth Evil Dead film is already a streaming hit, taking the #1 spot and trending across multiple platforms.

Collider reports that Sam Raimi's latest horror sequel, Evil Dead Burn, has become a streaming success. Directed by Sébastien Vaniček and produced by Raimi, the film landed on HBO Max on October 2. Within two days, it reached the #1 spot in the U.S. on HBO Max and climbed to #4 overall on the platform.
It also outperformed Supergirl, now at #3, and Backrooms at #2. The film's reach goes beyond HBO Max. It is trending on Prime Video in Germany, Mexico, and Poland. On Apple TV and Google, it has been trending in dozens of countries. It also appears on Rakuten TV, Catchplay, Crave, and friDay.
Evil Dead Burn picks up the story from Evil Dead Rise. It follows Jessica, played by Greta van den Brink, who was exposed to demonic evil at the end of Rise. The film also brings back Ellie, played by Alyssa Sutherland, and references the Kandarian Dagger and Professor Knowby's research.
The franchise continues to be efficient with its budgets. Evil Dead Burn made $72.4 million worldwide against a $20 million production budget. That follows Evil Dead Rise, which earned $147.3 million on a $15 million budget.
Warner Bros. and New Line have already moved ahead with the next chapter. Francis Galluppi will write and direct Evil Dead Wrath. Production has wrapped and it is scheduled for an April 7, 2028 release. Raimi and Rob Tapert are producing. Bruce Campbell and Rise director Lee Cronin are executive producers.
Evil Dead Burn is streaming on HBO Max in the U.S. If you liked Evil Dead Rise, this one is a no-brainer for your weekend watch.
