Monsters University leaps back into Hulu's top 10
Nathan Fillion's animated prequel is streaming again, just in time for Halloween and ahead of the announced third Monsters, Inc. film.

Screen Rant reports that Monsters University, the 2013 Pixar prequel starring Nathan Fillion as the voice of the fraternity president who tries to recruit Sulley, has climbed to No. 9 on Hulu's Top 15 Movies chart.
Directed by Dan Scanlon from a screenplay by Dan Gerson and Robert L. Baird, the film follows Mike and Sulley's college days, where they start as rivals before becoming best friends. The voice cast also includes Billy Crystal, John Goodman, Helen Mirren, Steve Buscemi, Charlie Day and Aubrey Plaza.
Critics gave the prequel generally positive reviews, though its Rotten Tomatoes score of 96% for the original Monsters, Inc. remains higher. Monsters University was a box office hit, grossing over $743 million worldwide.
The timing lines up with the Halloween season, Screen Rant notes: Hulu's chart also features Halloweentown at No. 8, Hocus Pocus 2 at No. 7, and Coraline at No. 4. Just ahead of Monsters University at No. 9 sits the horror-comedy sequel Ready or Not 2: Here I Come at No. 10.
Pixar has announced that a third Monsters, Inc. film is in development, as reported earlier this year. John Goodman acknowledged the reports to Screen Rant shortly after, though he said the studio had not yet contacted him. Most Pixar movies take three to four years to make, so updates on the threequel may be a while.
