On Call Rises From the Dead: Prime Video Drama Reaches Top 10
Nearly two years after its release, the Dick Wolf-produced police procedural has climbed back into Prime Video's Top 10, boosting hopes for a second season despite its 2025 cancellation.

On Call, the Prime Video police procedural from Dick Wolf and his son Elliot Wolf, has quietly clawed its way back into the platform's Top 10. According to data from October 6, 2026, Screen Rant reports the series now ranks Number 10 on Prime Video in the United States.
The eight-episode first season, released in full on January 9, 2025, follows Long Beach officers Traci Harmon and rookie Alex Diaz as they investigate a fellow officer's death while handling daily emergency calls. Critics gave it a 55% on Rotten Tomatoes based on 20 reviews. Audiences were kinder: a 91% score from over 250 ratings.
The resurgence comes despite Prime Video cancelling the show in May 2025. Screen Rant reports the decision stemmed from a cost-plus contract Wolf Entertainment couldn't afford, though the streamer had initially considered ordering both seasons 2 and 3 at once. The Wolfs have since pitched the series to other platforms, including Peacock.
Adding to the uncertainty, star Brandon Larracuente (Diaz) landed a main role on Chicago Fire season 14. That doesn't rule out an On Call return, but it's a complication. The show's fresh streaming life suggests audiences still want more on the beat.
