Spider-Man: Brand New Day hits digital after $2.5B run

Screen Rant reports Sony confirmed the MCU sequel's Oct. 6 digital debut after a record $2.5 billion theatrical run.

Screen Rant reports that Spider-Man: Brand New Day is now available at home. Sony confirmed the Tom Holland sequel's digital debut for Oct. 6, 2026, 67 days after it opened in theaters July 31. The Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures movie has pulled in $2.5 billion at the box office since then.

The digital release went live at 12 p.m. ET. Viewers can rent it or buy it on Amazon Prime Video, AppleTV and Fandango. The purchase price is $29.99 and includes bonus features. Screen Rant says the rental price is not confirmed yet, but $19.99 is expected.

The move starts a new era for the MCU Phase 6 movie. Brand New Day held the domestic box office for six consecutive weekends, but its weekday grosses have dropped below $1 million and it barely kept a top 10 spot last weekend, Screen Rant reports. The at-home release gives Sony and Marvel a fresh revenue stream.

Screen Rant points to Spider-Man: No Way Home as a benchmark. No Way Home took in $42 million from digital sales in its first week. Screen Rant says Brand New Day could add $50 million or more in the next week if it draws attention, and even matching No Way Home would bring in more than a theater-only run from here.

Reports of a re-release with new scenes remain a rumor. Screen Rant says Sony and Marvel have not confirmed those reports and no release date exists. For now, the digital version is the new way to see it.

Holland's Spider-Man 5 is in early development, according to Screen Rant. A strong digital debut gives Sony and Marvel more reason to move those plans forward.
