Spy x Family 2 Stage Play Brings Forgers Back

The sequel adapts the Luxury Cruise Ship and Bomb Dog arcs, with a national tour running through December 2026.

Screen Rant reports that Toho has released a full trailer for Spy x Family 2, the second stage adaptation of Tatsuya Endo's manga. The new production brings the Forger family back to the theater with a story drawn from two fan-favorite arcs.

The first act follows Anya after she asks for a dog and attends a rescue event, where a terrorist plot against the West's Foreign Minister unfolds in the background. The second act moves to the Princess Lorelei cruise ship, where Yor takes on a dangerous assignment protecting Olka Gretcher, a mother connected to an Ostanian mafia family. By coincidence, Loid and Anya board the same ship after winning cruise tickets through a raffle, setting up a mix of espionage, comedy, and family chaos.

The production uses multiple performers for several major roles to sustain a national tour. Win Morisaki and Kento Kinouchi alternate as Loid Forger, Fuka Yuzuki and Kiho Maaya share the role of Yor, and three performers play Anya: Rana Izutani, Kanau Kozano, and Reika Mano. The supporting cast includes Toru Isono as terrorist leader Keith Kepler, Hitomi Arisa as Olka Gretcher, and Tatsumine Tanso and Kaito Arai as the principal assassin and information broker.

Spy x Family 2 began with preview performances from September 9 through September 11 at Westa Kawagoe's Yaoko Grand Hall. Its main run at Tokyo Tatemoto BRILLIA Hall continues through October 29, 2026. The production then heads to Hakataza Theater in Fukuoka City starting November 7, with additional performances in Hyogo and Aichi Prefecture from December 1 through December 29. Tickets are available through Toho One.

The stage sequel arrives at an interesting time for the franchise. Spy x Family Season 3 has already finished, and CloverWorks and Wit Studio have not yet announced a Season 4. Meanwhile, the manga recently returned from a brief hiatus in June 2026. For fans who can't see the play in person, the manga is available in English through VIZ Media, and the anime streams on Hulu, Crunchyroll, and Netflix.
