Susan Turner deserves a spot in Prime Video's Reacher
The character is a major figure in Lee Child's books and returns in the 31st novel later this year.

An OG character from the Jack Reacher books is set to return in one month, and fans are already thinking about where she belongs on screen.
Susan Turner is one of the few recurring female leads in the Lee Child series. She plays a major role in two novels, "61 Hours" and "Never Go Back," and gets referenced during the arc spanning books 15 through 17. She is co-lead in the upcoming 31st novel, "Chain Reaction," co-written by Lee Child and Andrew Child and slated for release on Oct. 20, 2026. The book begins with General Turner reaching out to Reacher after a team member is murdered.
The character already appeared on screen in Tom Cruise's "Jack Reacher: Never Go Back," played by Cobie Smulders, where she acts as a strong ally to Reacher. Screen Rant reports that Smulders' Turner serves much the same role as Neagley and Roscoe in the movie.
Despite her prominence in the novels, Turner has not appeared in the Prime Video series. She gets one passing mention in season 3, when Reacher tries to contact her by calling the 110th MP Special Investigations Unit. Reacher says, "I'm calling in that favor she owes me," but the office says Turner is unavailable. Screen Rant suggests this could be setting up her future arrival.
Neagley is getting her own spin-off series, which Screen Rant notes leaves room for a new recurring female lead. Reacher season 5 will adapt "Make Me," which does not feature Turner. Season 6 could pick up "61 Hours," one of the best books in the franchise, and introduce her.
"If she is introduced in Prime Video's Reacher in the near future, she could even prove to be the perfect replacement for Neagley and Roscoe," Screen Rant writes.
