Screen Rant reports that The Pitt has fallen out of HBO Max's global Top 10 as of October 5, 2026, a surprising drop less than a year after its second season ended.

The medical drama won 11 Emmys across two seasons, including two wins for Outstanding Drama Series. Season 3 is planned for early 2027 with 15 episodes. But after six months without a new episode, the show has also disappeared from Amazon Channels' Top 10. Screen Rant attributes the decline to the arrival of new HBO Max originals like Lanterns, War and Youth.

Cast Changes Ahead of Season 3

Major cast shake-ups are coming. Dr. Samira Mohan, played by Supriya Ganesh, is leaving the show. Parker Ellis, played by Ayesha Harris, will be promoted to main cast member. Dr. Javadi will shift to a psychiatry rotation. Dr. Baran Al-Hashimi (Sepideh Moafi) will return later in the season with a follow-up to her diagnosis from season 2. Season 3 takes place a few months after the previous season, meaning significant developments have occurred off-screen.

The show won 11 Emmys in its first two seasons, including two for Outstanding Drama Series.

Screen Rant notes that The Pitt is likely to return to the Top 10 once new episodes air, given its history of strong viewership and critical praise.
