Iron Man's New Animated Design Confirmed For Avengers Halloween Special

Screen Rant reports on the fresh look Tony Stark sports in the recently released 'Spidey and the Avengers: Halloween Team-Up!' on Disney+.

Marvel has officially confirmed what Iron Man looks like in a new Avengers release hitting Disney+ this week, bringing Tony Stark back alongside Spider-Man, Black Panther, Captain America, the Hulk and the Wasp.

The animated special, 'Spidey and the Avengers: Halloween Team-Up!', dropped on the streaming service September 25 and currently sits at No. 6 on Disney+ in the U.S., according to Screen Rant. It's the second special in this universe, following 'Spidey and Iron Man: Avengers Team-Up!' from October 2025. Both are designed to set up a new series, 'Avengers: Mightiest Friends', coming in 2027.

What Iron Man Looks Like

Iron Man's suit this time is a departure from the full-body armor fans know from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The design shows Tony Stark wearing the classic red-and-gold armor from the chest up, with a black armored shirt and pants connecting to advanced boots. His chest features a white upside-down triangle inside a bright blue circle, with the blue glow appearing on other parts of the suit.

Screen Rant notes the look feels more modern than Robert Downey Jr.'s early MCU suits, though it clearly borrows from the Mark III armor from his debut. The big difference: the midsection is unarmored in the animated version, while Downey's suit covered him head to toe. The blue white glow that was limited to the Arc Reactor and palms in live-action is now scattered across the animated suit as design accents.

The special arrives as Downey Jr. prepares to return to the MCU as the villain Doctor Doom in 'Avengers: Doomsday' (2026). Marvel has not confirmed whether Downey will also reprise his Iron Man role alongside that villain turn.
