Reynolds and McElhenney Star in Wrexham-Themed Nex Playground Ad
Collider says the Oct. 6 campaign brings Wrexham players Josh Windass and Ben Sheaf into a mock interview with the celebrity owners.

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have a new Wrexham project, and it's not another season of their show. Collider reports the pair are teaming up with Nex Playground for a campaign debuting Oct. 6. It's their first work for the company since the Wrexham deal was announced this year.
The spot, created with Maximum Effort, puts the co-chairmen in a mock interview with Wrexham's Josh Windass and Ben Sheaf. The recruit isn't a footballer. The campaign focuses on a young Nex Playground player whose gaming skill wins them a team slot.
The June partnership announcement made Nex the official kit sleeve sponsor for Wrexham's 2026/27 season. The deal also includes a Nex Game Zone and youth initiatives. Nex will also appear in "Welcome to Wrexham".
A day after the campaign, Sonic Forces arrives on Play Pass Oct. 7. Collider reports SEGA's HARDlight Studios did the development. The team, known for Sonic Dream Team and Sonic Dash, adapted the mobile running and action into a physically active game for the platform.
It brings two big Nex Playground events this week: the Wrexham comedy on Oct. 6 and Sonic on Oct. 7.
